แม่ขวัญ

A community leader, Ma Kwan started the protest camp that eventually closed down the Dong Ma Fai mine. With a deep connection to the land, she enjoys foraging for food and tending to her rice paddy.

แม่ลำ

When it’s time to show up to resist the mines, Ma Rum is the one to get everyone going. Her favorite spot in Dong Ma Fai is her rice field, and she wants to share that place with visitors along with her knowledge of nature.

แม่แอ๊ด

Ma Aedt is a farmer and cook bringing food straight from her garden to her kitchen to you. Always having a variety of delicious fruits, she will make whatever local dish you want to try!

แม่จำปา

Ma Jum Pa says of all the places she's been, Dong Ma Fai is the prettiest. She is skilled in making embroidery, mats, and brooms. She also likes to dance and volunteer at temple events.

พ่อควร

Pa Kuan is a farmer and leader of Dong Ma Fai’s mining resistance who specializes in navigating the local courts. He likes watching Muay Thai and telling stories about the land.

แม่เตี้ย

Ma Tia is a rice farmer who lives with two daughters, a granddaughter, a dog and four cats. For animal lovers, this is the perfect place for you!

พ่อหมอน และ แม่สำราญ

Pa Mon and Ma Sumran have lived in Dong Ma Fai for over 50 years. Their house is on a hill surrounded by rice paddies, perfect for campfires and stargazing.

The meals will be traditional Isaan dishes; typically with a range of spreads, there will be something to satisfy the appetites of everyone. Be sure to clarify any allergies or dietary restrictions when booking your homestay, and remember to let your host family know again upon your arrival.
